Smugglers and Scones

Disclosure:  I received a free digital copy of Smugglers and Scones in exchange for an unbiased review.

This week my book is Smugglers and Scones by Morgan Talbot.  It is the first book in the Moorehaven Mysteries.  I found it on NetGalley and I am so happy I did!  Morgan wrote one other series about two girls who love to geocache in Oregon and find things that aren’t on the official hunt.  I already have them downloading to read next week.

Looking for an adventure?  Some history?  A little flirting?  This is the book for you.  I just finished it and I am a little mad I have to wait for the next one!  The cast of characters are hilarious, the setting makes me want to visit coastal Oregon, and I feel the need to start writing mystery novels just so I can stay at the B&B and eat the scones.

The book revolves around Pippa and her B&B called Moorehaven.  She can only let mystery writers stay there, and that is a great story in itself.  Add in a couple near death experiences, a burglary, a treasure hunt, a biker gang fight, a few murders, and a tour boat guide (that is so hot mermaids would throw themselves in his boat) the book is a hard one to put down.

My Rating – 5 Stars

I recommend it for anyone who wants to loose themselves in a cozy mystery that will make you laugh out loud.
